Additionally, IBKR maintains an excess SIPC policy underwritten by certain Lloyd’s of London insurers, extending per-account coverage by an additional $30 million (with a cash sublimit of $900,000), subject to an aggregate limit of $150 million.
It is important to note that this protection applies only in the event of a broker-dealer failure and does not cover market losses. Futures and options on futures are not covered under SIPC protection.
